Yiorgos Bereris

Yiorgos Bereris is a contemporary pianist, accordionist and composer.

His passion for exploring new musical paths has led him to develop a personal language of composing and improvising, inspired by the jazz and the Greek and Balkan music traditions. His compositions are mainly inspired by the cultural wealth of his homeland, where pleasant melodies blend with undulating rhythms.

He grew up in Athens, Greece and he has devoted his energy to communicating through music since his early teens. Having graduated from the Music High School of Alimos, he completed his BA in Jazz Piano Performance from the Ionian University, under the guidance of George Kontrafouris and then in 2022, he received the Master Degree from Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam.
He is currently finding himself between Rotterdam and Athens and he is performing with various world music projects around Europe.

“Laros”. his first personal album, includes some of his earliest compositions and features a piano trio with the addition of wind instruments (kaval, trumpet, saxophone) and electric guitar.

Bereris has performed in acclaimed venues and festivals such as the Boston Conservatory Theater (USA), Grachten Festival (NL), the Greek National Opera, the Thessaloniki Music
Hall (GR), Jamboree Jazz Club(SP) and Jazz in de Gracht (NL)
