Lambros Papanikolaou

Bio

Lambros Papanikolaou is a graduate of the jazz department of the Ionian University of Corfu. He came into contact with music and the double bass as a student of the Music School of Serres, where he started playing in concerts with musical ensembles and orchestras, from the age of 12.

In 2010, he started studying at the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University, following the Jazz Direction. At the same time, he attended seminars with Barry Harris, Sheila Jordan, Erik Ineke, Dave Liebman, Ronan Guilfoyle, Petro Klabani, etc.

In the fall of 2014, he studied as an Erasmus scholar at the University of Nicosia. Then, in the summer of 2015, he was chosen to represent the Ionian University at the annual international conference of the International Association of Schools of Jazz in Lisbon, Portugal. In 2016, he graduated from the Ionian University in the “JAZZ CONTRABASSO” class.

From 2016 onwards he studied classical double bass, where he received his diploma in 2021 as a graduate of the Attic Conservatory in the class of Anastasios

At the same time, he is an “active” member as a double bass player of the Athenian music scene with numerous collaborations both in the field of “Greek music” and in classical orchestras.
