Bio

Christian Ronig is a German artist from Münster. He is a singer, musician, songwriter, translator, poet and playwright. He made a name for himself by translating and rearranging songs from various Greek music genres for his debut album Greece is mine (Dec 2017). His second album, Heavy Seas at the Cape of Good Hope (Dec 2022), features rearranged works by composers such as Manos Hatzidakis and Mikis Theodorakis, as well as original songs, in which Christian explores the boundaries between Eastern music, folk, jazz and blues.

Christian has given numerous concerts throughout Greece, most notably his appearance at the Irodio Theatre in Athens in July 2019, alongside Giota Nega, Dimitris Mystakidis, Eleni Vital, Dionysis Savvopoulos, Girogos Dalaras. Christian is currently working together with Greek pianist Yann Keerim on the minimalist music project ‘in the making’, which will develop in into an evolving album.
